Further proof that Republicans to do not care about the citizens of this country, just themselves.

I'm glad to finally have enough posts to correspond in the Politics threads now. I coach a UIL Current Events Team and this forum will prove valuable.

On topic...I love how they talk out of both sides of their mouth and see nothing wrong with it.

FFS. That's really nasty. No way could anyone ever defend this seriously. What utter scum have the American people elected?

Ya this is stupid, just wondering why this wasn't part of the healthcare bill. Why try to cram this bill in so late in the session when they had all year to push this through.

The government dropped the ball when they let 9/11 happen. They are ultimately responsible for the clean up and the aftermath. If the intelligence was up to speed we would not have to pay out now.

Its the same as giving war widows pensions, when stuff like this happens you have to cover the cost.

Of course proper healthcare for all Americans would be nice, but those involved with the 9/11 cleanup deserve help.

I think the founding fathers would be sickened by the fact that these heroes, who put their lives on the line to help others in this tragedy aren't getting the health care they deserve while people like fivepoint sit on their ass in the safety and comfort of their own home and tell them that they shouldn't get the help they need because a document written 200 years ago doesn't specifically say "When people put their ass on the line to help others after a terrorist attack, give them health care".

You can't assume the founding fathers would be against it. 9/11 was a circumstance that nobody ever thought could happen when the Constitution was written, and I think anybody with a heart would support giving those workers all the medical help they need.

Thats why I don't understand why this wasn't tacked onto the healthcare bill.

This bill also failed in August. It's the second time the Reps. told the 9/11 workers to go **** themselves.

Anyone else want to bet the Dems will completely miss this opportunity to show to the American people the GOP's real motives?

Seriously this is the poltical equivalent of the GOP putting a loaded gun in the Dems hands, placing it up to their forheads, and laughing because they know the Dems don't have the balls to do anything.

The Founding Fathers were foreseers...they knew everything that would ever happen, including advances in technology and human actions, and made sure that document covered every single possibility of anything that could ever happen in the next 14 billion years. Since the document does not say exactly "Government will provide healthcare to workers involved in the cleanup of buildings of impossible height hit by futuristic flying machines flown by Muslim extremists who use electrical signals over leagues of copper strings to communicate", that means it is unconstitutional.
