I’m upgrading to the series 4 from series 3. The auto fall detection alone is worth the upgrade. Not to mention the larger screen and ECG. For someone who recently started living alone again with health issue the new features are really awesome.

I would like to say yes but I have decided for now to say no. I have no issues with my 3, do like the 4 though and can't fault anyone for either choice.

Kind of pissed off that the SS only comes with cellular. I don’t want cellular so now have to shell out at least £749. Nearly £200 more than I paid for the original SS.

Yep. Going from a 42mm SG GPS Nike+ Series 3 to SBSS 44mm Series 4. Having a history of heart problems, the ECG alone is worth the cost. The bigger screen and updated chip are just icing on the cake.

was originally planning on upgrading until i saw the inflated cost of the Series 4. i already own a SS Space Black Series 3 that i spent more than $700. considering the Series 4 is at least $100 dollars (for Stainless steel version) more than that...factoring tax and AppleCare it will probably end up north of 800-850.
even if i were able to recoup $300-350 from selling my Series 3, the price of ownership is not worth it.
I'm willing to shell out that kinda of money for iPhone simply because the iPhone is an indispensable part of our day to day life. For the Apple Watch, it serves a few main purposes for me...1) activity tracking 2) notifications 3) check time. granted, the Series 4 is a little bit more fashionable with a bigger screen, i don't think the bigger screen is going to make that big of a difference after a while.
Health tracking, i seriously doubt i'll utilize the EKG function all that much. Willing to wait for Series 5 when any sort of kinks of Series 4 is worked out and hopefully will include a bigger battery and perhaps Micro LED display will have been implemented.

Was ready to pull the trigger (Love the extra screen estate...) up until I saw the 100 Euro price hike and the US-only feature (again).
Getting sick of this to be honest... for crying out loud - still no Apple Pay over here in Germany... and EKG approval in 2020 or later?
Same for the phone: planned to upgrade, but not for these prices. Then I see the Xr and think, ok, I can live with the feature cuts. But no, only in this ridiculous size!!! Will keep my 6S some more...

Anyways, will redirect the money into some more $AAPL

I will always upgrade to the new watch each year until we hit the innovations slow down. It's like the early days of the iPhone, plenty of reason to upgrade, screen, back, new sensors, ECG, I like the rounder edges, better speaker, better mic, mic placement changed.

I stopped upgrading my phone, the watch is my new addiction to buying new tech, and I need to support Apple somehow, I mean, they really could use the money right?:D

Exactly.

I'm going to upgrade. May as well while my S3 is still worth something, which makes the cost of upgrading pretty negligible. The new health features are amazing. ECG and fall detection are great health features even if you're not old. Plus it should be faster. I hope the speed is noticeable, especially with the Nike+ running app which is painfully slow. If you don't mind aluminum and you don't need cellular the GPS only model has all the great features of the cellular model now (same memory capacity and ceramic/sapphire back), so choosing that one would save some money too. I still haven't decided if I'm getting a new iPhone XS though. My iPhone 7 isn't worth very much anymore so the upgrade would be expensive and the 7 is still a great phone.

I'm happy with the 3 and my iPhone 7 for now. It does what I want and I couldn't justify the cost of the 4 for now.
I'll end up waiting for the iWatch 5 to come out and then get a refurbished 4.... :)

Upgrading for sure. Love the rounded and larger screen. My 3 looks dated now and have wanted a thinner Watch too. Can’t wait.

I’m getting the 4 to check out. I love my 3 but as always the faster processor and larger display features are nice. It sure isn’t something I felt was a must have, but as the only upgrade this year, and likely next.. it’s a luxury I’m going to enjoy.

I like the 4th series that was recently introduced. I have 2 reasons why I will skip this one though. One is that I didn’t like having the same type of watch as the majority of people. I remember when I had the first one in black. Everyone had it and I got rid of it. I got over it for a while with the Nike version S2, but I only wore that when working out. Long story short, there is no edition version this time.

I want to upgrade...
But i need to sell my SS S3 first haha
If i can sell it at good price i might upgrade....
If not.... im still ok with it and get new bands instead haha

Was going to, but no ECG and no timeline until it arrives basically makes it £200 for a larger screen and a slightly thinner case. Not worth it personally.

Won't knock anyone who does as the screen does look beautiful - but I can get at least another year out of my S3.

With the market being saturated now with the Series 3 Watches, you will likely take somewhat of a Hit with the resale. I would try to sell locally if you can, that might be your best option for those who don’t pay attention to the used market online.

I said I won’t. I’m still thinking I won’t but my mind could change when LTE version launched in my country. :D
