Can it record your last words for relaying to passing spaceship captains out to discredit corrupt governments?

    If not, count me out.

Roxxxy is so soccer-savvy she can even discuss Manchester United.

It sounds like they've based it on Miss Jaffa Cake.

    Apparently, she also snores.

Yep, they've based it on Miss Jaffa Cake.

I'll stick with the original, if it's all the same.

Great movie! It was a little like Terminator at the end though.

Westworld came out in 1973, Terminator in 1984, so it's the other way 'round.

I'm sorry, but I'm not having sex with something that can't do anything cept lay there and stare at me with the same eternally frozen look of dull surprise.

Yeah, sex robots. A little more lively admittedly, and I'm sure they'll have mechanisms built in to alter the facial expressions and whatnot. But somehow...I dunno...that makes it even worse.

They were not robots in Blade Runner, they were replicants, essentially GELFs, entirely biological, effectively human in almost every way except that they had a set expiration date.

All these things will be lost, like tears in rain

Did the story explain why they had an expiration date? Did some part of them deteriorate?

The official explanation in the story was that as Replicants got older, their personalities became more independent and unstable. So their lifespans were purposely limited to four year.

The story is vague on that subject. Some have suggested that the Nexus-6 models had Sebastian's accelerated aging gene, "there's some of me in you" while others have suggested that the models' increased metabolism "The light that burns twice as bright burns for half as long - and you have burned so very, very brightly..." is the cause.

We live in societies that demonize sex, vilify prostitutes, shuns open discussion, blasts scientific professionals, and refuses to teach our children on the subject.

Yet the fundamental biological urge is there, the need to quench it extremely powerful.

I am surprised it took this long.

    Thank you. :D

I've always found our cultural priorities to be rather backwards when it comes to violence and nudity. Particularly regarding breasts, which are nurturing organs, not sexual ones. And though men are often attracted to breasts, the same can be said of women towards a man's chest. This is as you said a biological urge, and it exists in both sexes. Driving us to seek out a mate with desirable traits.

I think I might've saw a bit of that. I remember flipping through the channels, and coming across a scene of some guy slowing brushing the hair on this incredibly realistic looking doll. He had this look of almost rapturous infatuation on his face the whole while.

Now I don't like to judge people, and I'm not going to say the guy's pathetic or anything, but it was...

    yeah...

    ...it was a little odd.
