How do I share one of my local hard disks via SMB so a Windows machine can see it? Both computers are communicating fine. OSX can see all Windows (Main server) without a problem. I just can't get an OSX disk to be shared on the network. I tried making an alias under the "shared" folder, but the other computer couldn't see it.

That's already enabled. My Windows machine can see my users folder (Documents, Library, etc) without a problem already.

I had a similar question posted about sharing improvements in Leopard in general. I thought it would generate some interesting questions, but nobody responded.

I'd recommend sharepoints too. Other than that, you can edit the smb.conf file directly in the terminal.

It seems that with Leopard, our sharing options will be much better. There seems to be an option in the sharing prefs pane to share whatever folder you'd like.
