This is Canada people! smh
He's supposedly the one police have confirmed is now dead. But they're still on very high alert. There's likely more than one suspect it seems. My office is in lockdown but we can see everything from our windows on the 18th floor.
I just don't understand this kind of attack. We don't yet know the motives of the shooter(s), but I can't see anything that the attacker(s) "gained" by these acts.
I hope the soldier guarding the memorial makes it, and I hope you're ok Skinned.
It's another sad day of pain in a long sad history of violence.

I don't think it's a coincidence either. Everyone is fine here Raid, thanks. I hope he makes it too.
I hope the coward's one way ticket was to a barbecue.
Hard to say if there is another suspect or if it's just a state of caution now. It doesn't look like the lockdown is going to be lifted anytime soon IMO.
I have a feeling this has something to do with yesterday's hit and run in St Jean yesterday.
Unfortunately my previous deleted post was not a false alarm.
Rest in peace Cpl. Nathan Cirillo - thank you for serving our country, brother.
Stay safe up there.
However, if this idiot takes out the plant that makes Coffee Crisps, show no mercy when you take him down!
Damn.. now I'm craving a Coffee Crisp!
Seriously, stay safe.
Oh no is this more Muslim trouble?...what is their problem, why can't they live in peace?
The Beeb is now saying one soldier is dead, and the police are searching for other gunmen.
Not Muslim trouble, a radical perhaps, but such senseless and ultimately futile violence is certainly from someone with a warped mind.
The news is now reporting that the soldier shot at the memorial is dead. Probably one of the reservists from Hamilton called up to serve as an honour guard.
Prayers to the soldier and his family.
how can they? keep bombing the middle east & people are bound to retaliate. Canada was set to join the fight against ISIS.
Just received via push notification from the AP Mobile app.
EDIT: Now they say they believe there is more than one shooter.
Thoughts go out to the family and friends of the soldier, and anyone else caught up in this
My thought and payers are with that murdered Soldier. I am very sad that this has happened.
Live stream of updates here:
Things are kinda getting back to normal, lockdowns being lifted, etc.
Thought I'd repost this here.
In his dying moments, the shooter thought he had done is part for militant Islam World Domination *or* in a flash of clarity, realized what an idiot he was.
On Friday, by chance, I had the rare privilege to witness many fellow Canadians pause and pay tribute to Cpl. Cirillo on his final journey home. It was inspiring to see so many people united in respect. The sight of the packed over passes, and the cars pulled over on the shoulders to bear witness and clear passage for the procession was quite touching.
I really wanted to be there but was too sick to leave Montreal
