Calls were made for Trump to step down amid a video from 25 years ago, now that Hillary has an ongoing criminal investigation on her would the responsible thing be to step down and let Kaine take her place/possibly win?

Fair question. But if Clinton were to step down, they should run Anthony Weiner. He earned it.

Criminal investigation - do you mean like the audit of Trump's tax returns?

In any case, the answer is no. There has been no prosecution or conviction. Also, whereas as Clinton denies wrongdoing, we have Trump on tape boasting – not just admitting – sexual assault against women. Frankly I would have been happier if this election were between Kasich and Bernie, but in the current circumstances I trust Trump far less than Clinton.

    Hey, you did ask, so...

Tax audit isn't a criminal investigation. It's an audit.

Why does it matter if it's a criminal or civil investigation?

An audit might be a random check, but it might also be the preliminary steps in criminal investigation. We don't know. Just like we don't know about Hillary and e-mails with respect tot he FBI's renewed investigation. What we do know is that Trump has bragged about grabbing women by the crotch without their consent. Imagine the outrage of those on the right if Hillary had admitted to grabbing cranky old white men the same way.

My point is that, on the whole, Trump seems far less trustworthy than Clinton.

How do you know the returns are not released because of some wrongdoing, as opposed to donations to what supporters might or might not believe may be "conflict of interest"?

No, because if she wins I want to see here dragged through the mud. It will be an epic and fitting end to this corrupt leach on society.

I got audited this year. I must be a criminal. Holy crap!

Seriously, don't ever tell any Trump supporters they are stupid. You just claimed a tax audit makes one a criminal.

An audit is a review, Clinton already played this game once and lost, the FBI investigates criminal matters, one of which is Hillary's case.

    Bwahahaha

That was funny. Step down because the FBI is investigating Anthony Weiner and the computer he shared with his estranged wife? The only one that may face criminal charges (besides Weiner who surely engaged in sexual activity with an underage girl) is Huma Abedin and even her omission of that computer usage may not warrant charges.

    9 days and counting...

They are investigating Hillary's case again or they wouldn't have released this notice... about Hillary.

We didn't see a "we are reopening the case against weiner email this week"

I have no doubt they are investigating from the angle of Abedin having email on a computer that she did not remember using when questioned by the FBI. The reason why the Clinton camp wants all info out there instead of this last minute attempt to blindside her campaign.

Comey is attempting to blindside Hillary's campaign? That's rich. I'd like to read how you'd support that claim. Be my guest.

Clinton says she wants all the info out because that's the only card she has, she did the same thing earlier this year knowing that she had classified info on her server that she was lieing about. How many times can you be fooled?

Kaine's chummy with Republicans now. Republicans are betting on Clinton being impeached and removed from office and Kaine taking her place. Who's to say he won't lash out and be the most liberal president on record and changed his mind on his beliefs such as abortion, that Republicans adore so much? Never trust your enemy, even if they give you a peace offering.

Releasing a vague statement on a Friday, with less than two weeks to go before election day. He gift-wrapped it for Chaffetz, et al in the GOP circus tent that quickly spread lies about the contents of the letter and its focus. Looks like a coordinated attempt to sabotage that the media initially bit at before walking back on the lies.

Obama and Hillary made a deal during the primaries 8 years ago. It's her turn now and there is no way the democrat machine will change that objective.

Keep hoping, but that dog ain't biting. Pointless investigation, after pointless investigation over decades and the GOP circus can't bring her down. Overall, this was a weak attempt that may have spurred enough Clinton-Kaine supporters to not take the election for granted and give her the presidency.

If Kaine isn't on the ballot of the majority of states then how could you possible vote for him? It'll take time to reprint ballots and that's not happening in nine days.
