I launched my a site just around 3 months ago now what I'm learning through analytics is that nearly 70% of my traffic either comes in directly to my blog or the majority of visitors spend most time on the blog.

Has anyone ever had a similar experience where their blog garnered most of the attention well not being the homepage? If so has anyone made their blog the homepage afterward?

If not just hoping to find some general help?

I've got a couple guest blog writers who are going to be helping out soon & really hoping to expand the content via the blog with production tutorials, walk throughs, editorials, etc. is also a reason I'm considering this.

Any thoughts or opinions on the matter would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

It's not surprising. Your homepage has very little if anything of interest on it and it seems like it is very infrequently updated so once you've read it there is no incentive to check it out for more information.
