Should we index our drives in Panther before Tiger?

Hey, does anyone know if we index in Panther before installing Tiger that it will speed up the usability of Spotlight when we install for the first time?

I do not think it is possible. Spotlight is completely different than just indexing your hard drive. It is database driven than is completely integrated into the OS. You need Tiger to have spotlight, so it is not possible. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Spotlight only took about 20-30 minutes to index on my nearly-full 160 GB drive, so I wouldn't worry about it. You can still use the system while it indexes.
