hi. i keep my iTunes on an external HD. i connect the hard drive, launch iTunes, and everything is fine.

but, i've just noticed that iTunes has creaded a folder on my mac HD to store all the iTunes artwork for coverflow mode..... shouldn't this be kept within iTunes folder on the external HD...?

am i doing something wrong, or is this just the way apple has set it up to work.? seems odd.

The new Album Art bits of iTunes 7 break tradition from earlier versions. The artwork is stored in a separate database where before the artwork was stored in the individual files. Artwork from the files is cached in the database too, but is kept separate from the downloaded artwork...

I'm not surprised that it doesn't keep it with the library, though this does make it a bit more surprising that coverflow mode isn't supported for shared libraries or from the iPod.
