I cant seem to change the pivot point of an object in maya. To go to the pivot point mode it says to press the intert or home key.. but on my MBP I dont have one. Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks!

this is what it said on the help menu:

To move the selected object's pivot

Select a transformation tool such as the Move Tool, Rotate Tool, or Scale Tool.
Press the Insert or Home key to switch the manipulator to pivot point mode.
Use the manipulator to move the pivot point.
Press Insert or Home again to switch the manipulator back to normal mode.

hey guys. i just spent the last 3 hours hunting that one down, and finly found it in some obscure PDF for download off the google search page. gaaa.

any way the answer im sure you have long been waiting for.

to move the pivot point. while in object mode press "w" or click the move tool. then instead of pressing "insert" or "home" you can press and hold the "d" key. from here you simply click and drag.

well there it is boys and girls. one of the hardest answers to fined out there about maya. haha.

You can also use FN+Left Arrow key. That is what I use. You'll have to repeat it once you're done to keep the pivot point there.
