    I used to always get 5 full bars where ever I was, ever since 4.0.1 I can only get to 4, not complaining but just wondering what other people are finding out.

    Used to get 5 in my place...now 3 at most. Reception is the same, though.

    Yea, it's weird man...maybe one day I'll get to see 5 bars again if AT&T fixes their damn network.

    5 @ work. 3 @ home, where I used to get 5.

    I'm usually at 5, now sometimes three.

    Before I would usually have 5 or none. Rarely was there a middle ground.

    And this is exactly why they released the update.

    Here in Germany I usually have five bars. I have also never experienced a dropped call and I think that the iphone 4 has a better signal than most phones.

    3 at home and 5 when I'm out. On average though it's 3 most of the time.

    Used to get to 5 at home on my 3GS but were the bars being less accurately displayed on the 3GS?

    Since the update I get 2-3 less bars. Rarely ever do I get 5 bars-3G.

    At least now I know the true signal strength.

    on GPRS
    4.0 = 5 bars.
    4.0.1 = 5 Bars.

    on 3G
    4.0 = 5 Bars.
    4.0.0.1 = 2-3 Bars.

    Signal is more sensitive in 4.0.1 though, will go between 3-5 whereas with 4.0 it'd stay 5, and drop to 4 RARELY. (GPRS)

    I get 4 bars at home, and 5 bars while I'm at work.

    We've been severely lied to...

    Carmel to Santa Cruz

    2 miles = 5 bars
    3 miles = 4 bars
    30 miles = 3 bars
    10 miles = 2 bars

    Still 5 bars n most places. The only place where it is different is in my apartment. With my 3g I could barely hold a conversation because it would either drop the call or the quality was so poor. With my ip4 I used to get 4 bars here with 4.0, now I get 2 (occasionally 1) but I haven't dropped a call yet.

    I don't care about bars honestly. I used to drop a call on average at least once a day with my 3g and I haven't yet with my 4.

    5 while sitting at my computer desk and then 1-3 bars while watching TV on the couch which is about 10 feet away from the desk. Awesome.

    3 or 4 when holding it and 5 when it's on the table. No dropped calls though.

    You must have missed this:

    In the newport beach, laguna beach, and dana point area, AT&T works great. We're still getting a maximum of 5 bars. It'll never drop below 3 bars around here

    I usually get 4 or 5 bars at home and outside. 2 - 4 bars on phone calls.
