Siri AI Comes to Apple Watch in watchOS 27 Beta 3

With watchOS 27 beta 3, Apple added support for Siri AI and the Siri app, so Apple Watch users can now use the features right from their wrist.

Apple said Siri AI would be coming to the watch back when watchOS 27 was first introduced, but the feature wasn't live until now.

The Dynamic App Grid that pops up when the Digital Crown is pressed displays the Siri app in the center, and the smarter version of Siri is available to answer queries and complete requests.

Siri AI on Apple Watch relies on a nearby Apple Intelligence- compatible iPhone for processing. Conversations in the Siri app on Apple Watch sync to the Siri app across all other devices like iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Like always everyone loves to hate on anything Apple these days 🙄

But this is a game changer for me! I use the new Siri AI (and well, all AI) for random requests/questions, right now I have use the physical button and Home Screen shortcuts to use ChatGPT/Siri AI... but to be able to use my watch now? I can do this all day. I love this so much. I bet this would get my watch to wear her Apple Watch more too, she's always using AI for random questions throughout the day and for work.

Apple has been some great things lately, my only wish is Siri AI on HomePod, that's the only tech in my house that is truly behind the times. I need a better HomePod, hope we see something HomePod related in Sep/Oct.

I'm still getting "Siri update in progress" on my Ultra 3, it has been about an hour now and the watch is on its charger.
 
For what it's worth, I just asked it for a recipe suggestion for a more heart healthy recipe for vanilla and chocolate chipi ice cream to put in my ninja creami. it generated a reasonable one, and then i asked it to both add ingredients to my reminders based groceries list as well as add the recipe to notes, and it did it. all from my watch. my phone is several rooms over. impressed.

I'm just looking forward to being able to dictate reminders without shaking my head in bemusement at what it decided to transcribe.

It's been Eat Up Martha all over again.

What I don't get is why the app switcher was removed? A single press of the Digital Crown brings up the new Siri AI menu, but a double tap does nothing, anymore. Why remove the double-tap app switcher for the single-tap Siri AI menu? They don't even occupy the same activation. The only thing I can think of is that the new Apple Watches will have a Siri AI related feature accessed through the double-tap.

This is great, I use Siri AI a surprising amount more than I thought considering I'm very embedded in Frontier models - for quick checks on something or to manipulate my Apple ecosystem data it's very useful.

If there wasn't a memory shortage I think we'd be getting it standalone as a marquee feature on new watches this year, as that stands I don't know... maybe the Ultra, but I think they'll punt to 2027 and the full redesign.

I really don't care about Siri AI, but, Siri needs to be enabled for wireless CarPlay and somehow I do not think that requirement ends with 27, so, Siri AI for me is shoved down my throat and I'm not liking that

Right now, you cant even set up a timer with Siri AI on the Apple Watch because the "clock" app is not installed. Thats kind of funny 😀

Siri works on wireless carplay? Not sure what this means?

Interesting. I might restart my Watch and iPhone again. On the iPhone it is working. Maybe after a restart it is working.

Edit: No, its not working for me... I have a 17 Pro Max and an Apple Watch Ultra 3

WatchOS is so advanced, for it to do that again it needs the S12 Soc.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, lol. An app switcher is a basic function and being able to access and kill an erroring app seems like a no-brainer.
