The ppl in that part of the world disgust me.
That Iraqi freedom sure is awesome, no?
That's disgusting on so many levels.
Sad day indeed.... Do you really think they would treat gays any different?
Different than what?
"normal" rolleyes people.
Sad thing is- things were much better for gays in Iraq when Hussein was in power.
Is this part of the freedom we supposedly spread?
And women and children just to add to the list. So who is actually better off right now?
Don't group people together just based on their locale. It's preconceptions such as those that start these problems to begin with.
You can hate the perpetrators based on their actions, but don't allow those actions to influence your opinions of an entire nation of people.
To be fair- this kind of thing seems to be more prevalent in the Middle East. To deny that is a mistake, IMO.
This kind of ACTION may be more prevalent elsewhere, but the ideas and values behind it are the same everywhere. I wish I could understand it, but I just don't have the bigot mindset, I've never been able to hate people like this.
As intolerant as we are as a species of differences it is really amazing humans are alive today. And unfortunate, the world would be better off with us dead.
Oh, perhaps the George's, Senior and Junior.
Exactly. Remove the social and legal stigma of killing homosexuals -- particularly male homosexuals -- and watch the incidents soar.
That doesn't validate a universal disgust of an entire people.
Yay for racism!
As were education and many other things.
And not just that it happens most often in these "dark age" areas,
but also that the killing, beating, raping and mutilating of gays and women by brain damaged quasi fundamentalist unemployed losers is actually condoned.
It's sad, but what's really sad is that nothing will probably be done about it.
I know you can't tae one groups actions and then say everyone is like that, but most people in Iraq would be like that, IMO.
I'll take the hard line on it and say the sooner the US can get out of that country and let them destroy themselves, the better.
Hate to burst your bubble, but Islam, is totally against gays, no bones about it.
Most people in Iraq would be willing to ruthlessly murder a man based on his sexuality? In your opinion? And upon what, pray tell, is your opinion based? What qualifies you to make such a statement?
True: Islam, akin to Christianity, is against homosexuality.
But it does of their culture. You can dress it up all you like, but the end result is the same. Sorry- but I won't be visiting places like Saudi Arabia or Iran any time soon. It's fair to say I'm disgusted by countries ruled by Sharia law. You don't have to like that opinion, but I'm not going to lie for your convenience.
It was just a matter of time before someone blamed G.W. They took their lives into their own hands fully knowing the consequences of their acts according to Sharia law...The law was there before G.W. and will remain as long as Islam is in 700 years in the past...Although their is a love/hate relationship within the Koran regarding Homosexuals, it is not forbidden per se in the Koran, but in the Hanafi, Shafi'i, Hanbali, Maliki it is more like adultery..Most find in Syria, Gaza, West-Bank and Saudi accept homosexuality because most young men do not ever see a women un-escorted and want only to marry a virgin...Of course the ruling class Shia in that part of Iraq and Iran see it as an abomination..
Would it be fair for a Swiss, upon reading of the recent shooting that took 14 lives, to say, "the people of America disgust me"?
Do you like being associated with such acts of mass murder, simply because you live in the same county as the perpetrator, even if you are hundreds (or thousands) of miles away and condemn all acts of violence? Or is the area in which you live the only defining factor of your personalty?
To be fair;
a majority of Iranians, Iraquis, Pakistanis, etc. are against the radical agendas of petro dollar fueled mad men using ancient religion as a way to trick poor young men who have no hope of work, love, or real happiness into carrying out the mulas' terrorist agendas.
This is child abuse, hate crime, and terrorism all hiding behind phony religion, not true religion or spirituality.
We need to be more involved with these countries, not less.
