Can someone tell me how much HD space Panther takes up?

I'll be installing it on a 1st generation iBook with a small HD and want to make sure there would be enough space for all the apps and other stuff.

So, how big is Panther?

Cheers,
Grizzly:cool:

Depends on what you really installl.... All languages? All fonts? All printer drivers? X11?
If so, you could end up using 2.5 GB orso.....
If not, thus only 'needed' stuff: around 1.3 GB.

Give or take a couple of MB's... :)

How do you do a minimal install of a mac OS? Every time I've installed 10.2 or 10.3, it always installs all the print drivers and languages... and never asked. The only customization I can ever make is upgrade or format...

On one of the screens before you install it, there's a button at the bottom called Customize. Click that, and it will let you choose printers, fonts, etc.

Hey thanks... is there a way to uninstall some of the fonts and printer drivers later?

I believe there are third-party apps that will do this, but I don't think there's an official way.

I noticed that there are receipts for them in the library/receipts folder... is there any way through their package receipts? What exactly is the purpose of the "receipts" folder then?
