Got to mess around with the new 800 Powerbook at the Apple store last night. I love the idea that I can use my PB and a possible studio display (most likely the non-HD model) at the same time. There's a problem, though, and I have noticed this before...
MY optimal outcome: use the new PB in a newly designed docking station. Slide the PB into the docking station, with the screen closed, and use the studio display screen as my monitor -- finder and all, no mirroring. PB totally concealed under the studio display -- out of the way. Now, as I need to go outside my house for business, simply unattach the PB from the docking station, and I'm off. When I come home, start the whole thing over agian. Same computer anywhere I plan to go.
From what I have been told, this is not possible, even with the new PB. Any input on why? Is My optimal outcome totally out there?
I feel that the desktop (for mobile professional) is out, and mobility is in. Do you think Apple is on this same page?
