Well on Monday at school I was texting my friends because I couldn't find them, my feet where killing me and it was raining and I like tripped up and my phone was in my hand flat down smashed on the concrete ground, the whole front is smashed, the touch screen works fine. It's cracked on the inside and the outside and you can even cut yourself on it, I'm on o2 pay as you go no insurance or anything and it's too late to buy o2 or carphone wharehouse insurance, can anyone tell me how much this would cost to fix, or get a complete replacement(which I'd like but sounds dear)? I'd like a replacement mostly because my iPhone is like wrecked the plastic at the bottom where you plug the USB cable in is cracked there's billions of scratches on well everywhere on the phone the apple logo at the back even has a chip on it. Please someone tell me prices, also I'm with o2-UK

First of all, Pictures please!

I'm in the US, but after using Google I found that it will cost you about:

£440 for 8gb
£500 for 16gb

Then again, you can probably eBay one for about £300.

Good luck mate - Eric

I´d call o2 maybe you are lucky and you´l get a good option for a replacement ... since they want to get rid of their stock to make room for the new phone ...

£440 & £500 ha that's more than thy cost(Pay as you go)
8GB £352
16GB£399(I think)
But yeah I will call o2 later today I can't do it just now because I have to go out and I'll post pics later

In the US, Apple will do an out-of-warranty repair for any iPhone 3G for $199, which is 2x cheaper than AT&T will sell a replacement phone for ($399).

Don't know if they do that in the UK, though. Might be worth asking.

Yayup I called up apple it's still pretty expensive but i'm getting a completely new replacement iPhone for £146 free ups delivery plus I get to keep my current iPhone which I'll probably sell on eBay or get it fixed by a cheap mobile screen repairing store or do it myself and give it to a friend or someone in my family :) ha now I really do have to go.

heres some pictures *sorry about the quality*

iPhone display replacement

Apple will replace the handset / screen for £139. Book an appointment with a genius.

Not all is lost

You should buy this app for your next iPhone ;). I think there are somewhere 3rd parties repairers that can replace your screen for cheap, just google it. You could even do it your self if you are brave enough and have some spare time on your hands for just 11.40 USD! Good luck. :)

You easily order yourself a new glass with digitizer online. Will be cheaper than replacing the phone.

Nonetheless, sorry to see this happen.

For naked iPhone users, don't you feel uneasy when seeing this? Does it make you want to use a case?
