I am planning on getting one of the new Mac mini servers, but will install the client software instead as it will suffice for the small business file server use I intend it for.

I want to run the OS on the 2 x 500 GB disks in a mirrored RAID 1 array. This will provide plenty of space for file sharing, and I will couple it to a 1 TB external hard disk for Time Machine back up.

How do I acheive this?
Is there an option during installation to create a RAID 1 array?
Or, do I create a RAID 1 array in the initial installation, and then reinstall?
If the latter, is it possible to create a RAID 1 array using two disks where one is already an in use boot volume?

Thanks in advance.
