Do you have to have bought a leapard mac within a certain time period of the release of snow leopard? That can't be for people that have had a leapard mac for a long time?:)

If you buy a new Mac now with the Up-to-date program, that's not the full upgrade price.

He commented that everyone he's told has been shocked it's cheaper than in the US as it's $29 there. So at a guess, I'd say that is for everyone with Leopard :)

This was pulled from the Snow Leopard Tech Specs page:

    So, for US, it's $9.95. For UK, I'm guessing it's £7.95.

And since £7.95 = (today), $13.05, it is suddenly more expensive than the US's $9.95. Hardly surprising.

At that approximation, Im guessing the UK upgrade will be £25 ($41) over the US's $30

£25 is quite good I think, if that it is indeed what it turns out to be I will upgrade :)

    You're forgetting VAT.

    £7.95 / 1.15 = £6.91
    £6.91 * 1.64 = $11.33 (which is fair enough).

When they say upgrade... how do you prove you own leopard already.... whats stopping people buying SL to upgrade from Tiger... I am guessing that it will only upgrade from 10.5....?

I own a leopard retail disc and have a leopard bough MB.... so i know i qulaify for the upgrade pricing.. but how do you think they will work this?

    Honesty. :D

The story I heard so far is that the Snow Leopard installer asks you to insert a "Leopard" DVD at some point. Maybe there isn't a check at all.

I think this is the most likely method. Load the Snow Installer into RAM, ask the user to eject it and load a Leopard disc (retail or 'OEM', for want of a better description), check it, then eject it and ask for the Snow disc again.
