Not too sure if this was ever asked and not even sure if anyone has any information on this but I have always been curious...

The 1%'ers, celebrities, big business types, etc. usually have some sort of connection for anything and everything. So I was wondering if you think these people already got their hands on one?

I am not talking about the testers that have been spotted in public either. Those serve a purpose and I assume they have to be returned? I am talking the most powerful and well connected people in the world getting a brand new, sealed, iPhone X a week or two before the official release?

I don't think Apple does this. Have you ever seen a 1%'ers, celebrities, big business types, etc. have an iPhone before the general release?

And honestly...who really cares?

I have not which is why I asked. Some people here might work for the 1% type and might have spotted them with it. Also, again with the rich and powerful: they have access to things most normal people don't.

Honestly, I could care less but it was just something that I wondered about. Apple is so tight lipped about their products so I was wondering if they bend the rules for the 1%'ers that ask for it. Other companies do this as well.

The whole point of giving a celebrity your product is so that they'd be seen using it and influence others. Since there hasn't been any pics of an iPhone X in the hands of a celebrity that I've seen--I don't think it's out there.

Of course when it is released, Apple will be passing out free iPhone X's to celebrities like they are party favors while everyone else waits.

Not to get too political, but Apple is against the 1%ers. Would make them hypocrites...

Why would Apple be against 1%ers? They make some of the most expensive consumer electronics on the planet! If Apple was trying to be the champion of the everyman, they'd have more budget friendly options.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to say that Apple is elitist either, but they're certainly not anti-elite.

What makes you say Apple is against the 1%? They are one of the wealthiest multinational corporations out there. You wouldn't say Citibank or Exxon is against the 1% would you?

Apple used to market themselves as an outsider company for creatives but they are most certainly the establishment now. People spend $3500 for a Macbook Pro to send email or edit a World document these days.

Apple gave celebrities the Apple Watch before release.

I'm sure many people do, but it's more like 0.0000001%! :p

Just think about it. If you were a VP at Apple, you'd damn well expect to have one by now.

Executives and their close families members are bound to have them as soon as they are ready. Bosses at the carriers will have them - I mean they will have been filling warehouses with inventory for pre-orders for a while now. And then the press.

And celebrities are Apple's style... just very few celebrities and of a certain style - Stephen Fry is a close friend of Jony Ive for instance and was at the event. You can bet he and his husband went home with an iPhone X on September 12.

I'm sure there are several thousand in daily use.

Before the Apple Watch release a bunch of celebrities had them.

Good question, i hope not, but probably will

People who work for Apple in high-level positions, probably.

A-list Celebrities who really want the X, unless they have a special relationship with Apple, will probably get them Day 1.

I'm sure some of their agents/assistants/managers have already been tasked with acquiring it. Some of those people are extremely powerful and well-connected, so guaranteeing a Day 1 release device for them is certainly possible.

guess what - if you are here browsing the forums and are buying a 1000 dollar smart phone on a 500 dollar computer and not outside looking for food, you already live better then 98% of people on the planet so really, what's a percentage point between friends?

1%ers are far more likely to be low profile small business owners living in middle class neighborhoods and using their 3 year old iphone 6 than they are to be celebrities or big business types. Real life isn't an episode of MTV cribs.
