It's your choice. If you aren't happy with the product that the seller shipped to you, you can always ask for full refund.

If you are familiar with the Nehalem-Xeon architecture that's used in the Mac Pro 4,1 you probably understand why I was upgrading to 24GB and not 32GB. Same reason that having 48GB is actually better than 64GB, for most applications. I've had experience with other Nehalem-era Xeon systems in the past.

24GB you order are 6 x 4GB ram sticks?
I guess the seller kind of short of 4GB RAM sticks.
So he send you 6 x 8GB sticks in stead. It doesn't make significant difference of his profit.
Those RAM are flooding the PC parts market right now.
