So, I purchased an iPhone 8 Plus on launch day. Received it, and was waffling on whether or not I was going to keep it, so, I went online and did a "Return Items" thing on apple.com. But, I never did return it.

Fast forward to today, and I noticed that my AppleCare+ wasn't registered to the phone (even though I purchased it with the phone), and also noticed that the return was still "pending".

So, I asked if I could still return the phone given that it's "Pending Return" still.

Apple said, "yes"!

I'm slightly afraid -- what are the odds that Apple will give me a refund? I printed the new return label tonight, and have arranged a FedEx pickup for the morning. But, online it says to return it by October 7.. It's slightly beyond that date.

Think they'll refund? Return it? Something else?

Don’t they give you a confirmation or RMA number? If so, I’d think that’s fine.

What about just taking it to an Apple store?

Because it's well past 14 days at this point... Pretty sure the store won't take it -- but, online seems to be way more lenient. Guess because people forget to drop off packages?

Apple.com typically gives 21 days, while Apple Store only gives you 14 days. And if you click return button, they give you additional 14 days for them to receive it. Typically it takes 2 days to get back to their warehouse.

If your's said you had till 10/7/17, definitely call apple.com and clarify.

The location on the FedEx label is about 45 mins away from me.. It's going to OHL.. Do you know if I just drive it up there if they'd accept it? or, do I need to let FedEx deliver it? If I'm calculating this right, the 35 day return window would close on Friday -- and, they may decide to not deliver until Monday...

Anyone know what would happen if Apple received the delivery after the return deadline?

You had the phone for over a month. You're way past the return date.
It doesnt matter when you printed the label or requested the return.
They will see when you actually shipped it out via tracking and that date is not even close to 14 days.

Ultimately, if you're that concerned, I would call and clarify specifically with Apple and if it's question about the return, have them make notations in your account depending on who you talk to.
