any reason not to get the Verizon model over the ATT which is the service I have. I assume I’d get the Qualcomm vs intel or is this still even an issue?

The Verizon is unlocked?

Remember, you cannot browse and talk at the same time on a Verizon phone when using a cellular connection. Think getting directions or doing GoToMeeting while on a call. Dealer killer for my workday.

This is not correct, Verizon has had VoLTE for years now. Besides, if he uses it on AT&T it won't make a difference since AT&T is GSM.

So you have to have a Verizon account to get it?
Yes, it will ask for your Verizon account info.

dang, that's still a thing right now?
I thought that when you use ATT on a Verizon iPhone, it should just automatically switch to use GSM chip and can talk and surf at the same time?

This is not true at all. I make calls and use data at the same time frequently. This hasn't been true for years.

For the iPhone 8 you could get a carrier unlocked version right out of the gate; I would imagine it will be the same with the iPhone X.

This couldn't be more wrong. That's only on a CDMA connection. LTE has made this a thing of the past for years.

Oh, good to hear. However, when I bought my ip7+, Apple Store guy told me it was still the case, so I stayed with AT&T. Glad you cleared it up for me, since at&t is terrible in my area.

Not on Sprint.
Yes on Sprint. You can use data and voice at the same time. VoLTE and LTE data can be used simultaneously and if the carrier doesn't support VoLTE then you can have LTE and CDMA going at the same time. CDMA can't do both at the same time.

Can you switch a phone from att to Verizon? I thought only the 6 could do that.
The Verizon model will work on any US carrier as it’s bo th gsm and cdma. My 7 Plus is a Verizon phone running on t-mobile. Unlocked / T-Mobile / AT&T are GSM only and won’t run on Verizon.
