I would suggest a Thunderbolt 4 hub and a well-designed fanless external USB 4 40 Gbps NVMe SSD enclosure.

Here's my Qwiizlab SSD enclosure with Samsung 990 Pro:

Or if you really want a dock, then get a Thunderbolt 4 (or Thunderbolt 5) dock, again with external USB NVMe enclosure.

I'm not really a fan of the docks with built-in NMVe slots, because typically they are not well designed for cooling, and some may also be bandwidth starved. There are some out there with fans to aid in cooling, but so far they have been hit and miss because of fan noise.

And whatever you do, don't get a USB 3 dock. Not only are they slow, there are occasional bugs with SSDs on USB 3.
