So the Catalina update is 7 gigs to download?!

Hi I was reading this forum and someone posted a snapshot of the update window and it seems the update files are 7 gb size? Is this number right? It'll take a whole lot of time to complete the download then!

It was about 5 gb for me. And it only took around 10 minutes to download, so not that bad.

It is, iOS updates are the same. For the most part it's the same update, but each machine has slight differences in the software that causes the size to vary.

8.08 gig here. Thought I'd go for it today as release is not far away. It will not download however - I keep getting an error. Am in the UK. Are there any issues? Is the beta still available?

8GB are the full installer, the 5GB are for the update.

Going from Mojave will use a full installer, the updates only apply from earlier Catalina builds.
