Ok, now that Tiger is officially out, it is safe to say that in order to
maximize the "Tiger experience" a switcher should go for an imac
(in case of desktop) or a PB (if mobility is important). Hopefully the
ibook and minis will get a refresh later this year, although the real
impact of Core Image is still unclear at this point.

So, if someone gets a new PB from now to the end of this month,
he will get iLife and the upgrade option for 9.95, right ?
This sounds to be the best thing to do if you are on the fence.
Am I wrong ?

At the end of the month, new machines will already be shipping with Tiger in box, if not already pre-installed. An iMac or PowerBook are very good choices for a switcher, but it all depends on what you use your computer for.
