How can I disable the wallpaper?

I want the same black homescreen that I´ve always had.

Same as if you didn't want a wallpaper on the lockscreen before, just make a 320x480 solid black image.

For something that takes less than 10 seconds? I know time is precious and all, but really, REALLY?

Don't...use....one? Am I missing something glaringly obvious here?

just open your camera app, place finger over camera lens, take picture and then tell system to use that black picture as your wallpaper.

When you choose your wallpaper it asks if you want to use it for 'lock screen', 'home screen' or 'both'.

I don´t want to smudge my camera lens! :)

I´ve also noticed that swiping between the pages isn´t so smooth anymore with wallpaper in the background. That´s also one reason I don´t want a wallpaper.

When you click on a picture to set as wallpaper, you get the option to set it either as the lock screen or the homescreen, or both.

    Thanks!

But unfortunately the swiping of the pages are still "not so smooth" with the black wallpaper.

I think this is because now we HAVE to use a wallpaper and using wallpaper taxes the performance. :(

Just curious - are you on a 3G or 3GS? It might not be the fact that there's wallpaper if you're on a 3G. iOS4 could just be *that* slow.

I can swipe left/right extremely fast over and over again with absolutely not problems, smooth as ever.

I did a restore instead of an update so not sure if that's why.
