Fascinating exchange between two liberals on MSNBC last week. It got a bit heated! Interested to hear some opinions from individuals here regarding the forces in the Democratic party trying to pull it further to the left, vs. those pulling the party to the center. Which will win out, which should win out for the party to succeed short term and long term. Similarly, to those who think it should go more towards the center, is this simply because the ultra left (socialism as O'Donnell puts it) is currently unattainable at the moment in the American political arena?

Oh good. You're acknowledging that Socialism and Liberalism aren't the same thing at all.

Now can you explain that to Full of Win?

Interesting... now Liberal (socialist) O'Donnell is agreeing with me, and directly opposing the views of many of the liberals in these forums, suggesting that Social Security is a form socialism, that Welfare is a form of socialism, that much more of the Democratic party platform is all about socialism....

So interesting that no one wants to discuss this. Liberals openly admitting that their entitlement programs are 'socialist', others running as far from that word as possible. Do you agree with O'Donnell or with Greenwald?

I'll respond when you man up and respond to my request for proof about the tax cuts in the otheer thread.

Short answer is that many governmental programs lean one way or the other, but that doesn't make them the far end of the political spectrum they lean towards. I mean, the patriot act, despite all of its faults, is not fascism.

Fascinating. Two liberals arguing with each other.

    That's like porn for you.

Oxiclean might get those stains out of your jeans.

    Done.

I do enjoy it, that's for sure. Nothing I'll need to clean up afterwards though. ;)
