Up for sale is my 1st Generation iPod complete w/ the special edition Bob Marley Box.

    $325 shipped in the US

    The Sale includes the following:
    -1st Generation iPod
    -Wall Charger
    -Firewire Cable
    -Manuals & CD
    -Bob Marley Box

The following gives a general description of the iPod.
-The iPod works great and plays great!
-The iPod is in used condition (see pics)
-The box has the normal ipod box tears at the edges of the spine (see pics)
-The 1st & 2nd Gen iPods are known for chipped headphone jacks. This jack is not chipped (yet); however I notice a crack in the jack which may result in the typical chip.
-The packaging contains some of the original plastic wraps from the accesories and iPod (see pics)
-As for the battery; on a full charge and the iPod playing on a continuous shuffle w/ the backlight set to always on, I get between 2 and 3 hours of play time.

This is definitely a collectors item, please see all the pics (there are alot) and ask any question you would like.

How much are you looking for then?

The box and such would be great, but if you could keep it and just ship the iPod + accesories to lower the price of shipping and bring the price down a little bit, I would do that.

You may not agree, but I feel that it's worth much more than the price range are offering.

I'm sure others on here will agree.

I don't know about the specific model with the fancy box (I've never seen one of these) but I saw a 1G in the original box with all the goodies go on eBay last week for about $130, I think.

I have to believe that the box adds a great deal of value myself, since I have never seen one like it before. I'm no expert, but I have been watching 1G iPods for about the last 3-4 months, and I have never seen a box other than the stock one...

If I were you I would blur out the serial number in those pictures. I don't know that anyone could do anything nefarious with it, necessarily, but I wouldn't want my SNs floating out there.

I wouldn't take less than $200 for this. Wait until the economy improves and you'll see, Apple will become collectable. Hold onto this item for the time being.

Sorry Mattymac, wasn't trying to lowball you or anything, was just wondering how much it was worth by giving you a starting price. :) :) :)

Yes, I agree. It is definitely worth more that $200.

The box is very cool and does make a good edition to my collection. However I already have a 1G iPod in the box.

    No biggie.

    Collector here...

WOW - I didn't know that Apple released "special boxes" for the 1st Gen iPods.

Too bad you opened it... :D

    I'd say at least $200...

Okay to repost the pics in the Collectors Forum (for archiving)?

    Thanks for sharing!

my dad always told me that something's only worth $X is someone is willing to pay $X for it.

$200? no way. unless you find someone who really thinks it's worth it to have a brick sized ipod with a cool box that costs the same as a nano with approx same storage... then i say this is worth about $130ish tops.

i still have a working first generation RioVolt with scratches... feeler: $100/shipped?

You are correct that something is only worth what someone will pay for it. Oddly enough and seems to be to your disbelief, there are alot of iPod collectors and an iPod like this seems to be of value to alot of people...myself included

Most people don't know what a riovolt is so I doubt you'll get any interest ;)

    I'll send you a PM.

Speaking of Rio, I have seen 20gb and 30gb Rio Karma's going for 110+ on ebay.

Man this would be a nice device to swap a larger battery, a 32gb cf card and rockbox it. Too bad I did that to a mini or i'd be all over it.

I know the 1G iPod is a collectors item to some now.

But considering the condition of the iPod, $325 is far too much.

The back is all beat up, the battery life is bad, and you specifically said theres cracking on the headphone jack.

1G special edition box or not, considering the condition of the unit, $100 is more than its worth.

Maybe if you buff out the scratching, upgrade the battery, and fix the headphone jack you can get a couple hundred from a collector. But $325 is far too much for that iPod considering the condition.
