Sold phone on eBay, but I can still track it on iCloud. What's wrong here...

So I sold my 32GB iPhone 4 on eBay on Saturday running the iOS 5 GM. I went into "Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings" and removed the SIM card. It was on the initial "iPhone" setup screen when I turned it off and put it in the box.

Now, I can go into iCloud and my phone shows up at the location where I shipped it to. I can remote wipe, lock and everything.

Should I be concerned at all? lol

I don't have a clue how this happened.

They can't access my account though, they'd need my password. I removed my CC info from my iTunes account just in case though.

I don't want to just wipe it randomly though lol. I know I'd be pretty upset if I just got a new phone all set up and everything got erased a day later...

Maybe you should contact the buyer and let them know the deal. Ask them to do a full restore. If they do, problem solved. If they don't, you'll know and you can remote wipe it anyway.

Now you can see all the dirty pictures they have.....free porn!

But since you're tracking it, that just makes you a creeper.

Contact the buyer and tell him the situation. If I had bought that iPhone and figured that out, well, let's just say I wouldn't be the happiest of people. :D

So is the proper way to sell an iPhone now with iOS5 and iCloud is to remove SIM and do a full restore from iTunes?

Does that completely disassociate a device with an iCloud account?

I think you should send a message to it saying, "I know where you live..." or say, "Why you no restore me?!"

Just a shot in the dark here, but try going into iTunes, then account information. About halfway down is iTunes in the Cloud. Click manage devices. If your old phone shows up, click remove.

Yes. It has your phone number tied to it.
