Solved! Library reads 30GB but the contents add up to 5GB!

I'm having trouble with my /Library folder. When I read it, it says it's 30GB. However, when I go into it and select all of the contained folders, it only reads 5GB!!

How is it that there are invisible folders taking up so much space?! Is it normal for the system to create these invisible folders and take up SO MUCH space?! I mean 25GB is inexcusable!!

What's going on with my system?

Have you looked at the Library folder and enabled hidden folders via Terminal?

go to the terminal window and type ls -al
If you want to know what ls -al does type man ls in the terminal window.

Crap, all this time I was l -a'ing the wrong Library -.-' pwd negligence fail.

It turns out some old app that I had (probably black-listed, so I won't mention it here ) was storing BACKUPS of all of the data that I processed through that application!!

I'm disgusted, but eh, black hat software

It measured a hefty 25GB in size! T'is gone now, and forever!
