Some custom content not working on the mac

I have downloaded plenty of custom content for my mac... it seems like the collection files and package files are working fine... but anything other than that like sims2pack especially isn't uploading to the game at all. I have tried using the pack installer but the game froze when i used it to install the sims2pack content... is there aything else i can use to upload?
