I know there has been a million of these threads, but i could not find what i am sure is a simple answer to my problem. I hooked up an external USB 2.0 hdd to my AEBS. It popped right up on my MBP desktop, after asking for the BS password. Here is where i have a prob...I "ejected" it by dragging it over the trash can, just to make sure it would reconnect, and of course now i cant. I go into the airport utility and it still shows up in there. What is the deal? How do i remount it?
second question... How do i get my wife's Win XP laptop to see it?
Also i never did format it...it came formatted FAT32. I hope i do not have to reformat it just to get it to show up again.
Ok...work in progress and this is my second edit. I figured out how to get the disk back by going into the Airport Disk Utility and manually making the disk show up at the top of the screen. I can then reconnect to it. It does not solve my problem with auto connect but its a start. Id still take suggestions on how to get my wifes laptop to see it.
updated again....I would delete the thread but i did not see a place to do that. I got it working with windows. Norton was keeping the AirDisk Utl from finding it... simple fix.
