I want to buy a Sony DRX-500UL DVD recorder. Does anyone know if it works on Mac ?
it should work, just not with iDVD
Thank you for your reply.
But did anyone really test it ?
just figure out what software you want to use to burn with, Toast being the popular choice, check the website. I imagine it works. Might have some issues in the finder and itunes, but even then nothing you can't work around.
Is this the same drive that is used in a few of the new iMacs, if so it should have DiscBurner compatibility.
Yes it is !
Well it seems that many people use it and only iDVD doesn't work. I've read that DVD Studio pro should work. Someone tested it ?
well if its in the new imacs 10.2.4 should support it with idvd3.
Well no because the DRV 500 is the external version ... iDVD only works with internal recorders.
ahh didnt catch that part, that makes sense now.
Re: Sony DRX-500UL on Mac ???
