At first I thought, at least that's not as bad as the security hole Symantec CREATED last year :p

    But then I read:

"The false positives have a great impact on users, as the anti-virus program will block access or delete all "infected" files, depending on the software's configurations. This effectively renders the systems useless."

Number of users who lost data to Leap-A (which could only travel on LAN, not Internet, a fact nicely omitted by most journalists) = 0. Number of users who lost data to Sophos? I hope also 0.

I don't run antivirus software, and I won't until there's a Mac virus in the REAL WORLD (one that can, I don't know... spread on the Internet?) but when I do, Clam (free) is sounding better all the time.

Sophos, Symantec, what's the difference? They're just fear mongering, money grubbing leeches. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they wrote half the malware for the PC and are trying to do the same on the Mac. We already knew that Norton AV was terrible, now we're finding that Sophos is worse. IMO, these are the first two Mac malware packages.

I recently turned on ClamXav Sentry to scan my desktop folder for any viruses downloaded.

I tried to download an update to ClamXav (I think I accidentally downloaded a Linux one rather than the OSX one), and it said the ZIP file contained a virus :D
