Sounds & Haptics Since iOS 17.0

Before iOS 17.0 was released, Sounds & Haptics was great. With 17.0 they removed several of the alerts that we Seniors used to rely on because as we age, so does our hearing. Text Alerts are not the same choices as Ringtones.
The CRICKETS sound effect was the best for me to hear when getting a text message, and the ALARM sound was the best sound effect for Calendar reminders.

When you click on Text Tones or Calendar Alerts your choices of sound effects is now different than if you click on Ringtones.

We spent so much time in the Apple Forum trying to get our message across to TPTB.
Why on Earth did they split the TextTones and Ringtones and give us 2 different sets? It was so nice when it was the same for both.

That stinks. Sorry to hear that (no pun intended).

To paraphrase Andy Ihnatko, Apple designs things that are great for 90% of people, 90% of the time. That just means each year there are more and more people who slip through the cracks and find the Apple way doesn’t work for them anymore.

There might be some kind of workaround with Shortcuts or IFTTT. I just don’t dip my toes in those waters often enough to give a suggestion.
