I am sure the coach had something to do there.

Yeah, protests by 8 year olds are totally legit. I'm sure they just totally decided to do this all on their own. [/sarcasm]

And if they were fifteen you’d come up with another excuse to ignore them.

If you look at the photo/video of the team.. read the interview they did with the coach.. you'd see the angle happening with this one. "good teaching moment", according to the coach. Not my words.

Precisely. Because they're 15. That's why you'd still ignore them.

If they’re league allows it, if it’s ok for their parents, and if it’s done in an orderly manner... I think it’s fair.
    Do I like it? No.
Still a much better lesson for kids on peaceful protest than yelling slogans in a threatening manner (or looting) and such.

The news should just ignore it, little kids are just going to do what they are told.

How the !@#$ do 8 year olds know anything about anything? Really? They were obviously told to do this. And 15 year olds arent much more in-tune with how the world really works.

Look - its fine(its a free country), the coach and /or school are anti-America. Great. But lets not pretend that young kids organized this crap. Thats BS and you know it. Hell, Id go as far as saying that most protesters of any age are severely indoctrinated and mislead by the controlling left. Whatever. Sad.

I have to admit that it is pretty sad as well as these kids are simply being conditioned. Manipulation at an early age on either side is complete crap.

Let’s ban people under 18 from going to church. From going to protests. From watching the news. From watching award shows. From listening to Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. But Trump voters (say) are also indoctrinated. They thought he was going to #MAGA when he hasn’t.

Plus let’s be fair. The current (and last) presidents have no clue how the world works.

Letting them define their own opinion is fine. Hell, I went to church when I was a kid and decided it wasn't for me. That being said, these kids have no clue why they are doing what they are doing. An adult is using them to make a political statment and that is wrong.

You okay with a coach forcing kids to bow their heads to pray before a game? No?

    Same thing...

I’m sure plenty of coaches do get their teams to pray before a game actually. Especially in the more religious parts of the world.

I don’t see any need to get overexcited as long as if the parents object the kids can opt out.

To me it seems like you are ok with indoctrination and politics as long as it’s your politics and religion. But aren’t if it isn’t.

Sin of all sins, a few kids making a peaceful political statement about things affecting their neighborhoods and lives.

Did these kids receive some advice to do this?

It's likely, but I don't see what's wrong with that. I don't see what is wrong with teaching kids to be politically active, and it's a whole lot more genuine that some professional athlete making millions of dollars off the very system he claims is appressing him.

I don't think this raises to the level of indoctrination, some of these kids will grow up with a better sense of social responsibility, and as they grow, they'll make up their own minds on what that means to them.

Surely getting kids to not sing or getting kids to sing a national anthem is indoctrination what every you look at it.It also patronises eight year olds and their ability to think for themselves.

Lol! Anti-America, that's adorable. I'm going to have to assume you also view people who fly confederate flags and are obsessed with preserving statues to traitors in public spaces as Anti-America as well, correct?
