Inside A Mac Box
Came across this just now on the back of my Apple Watch SE I could've sworn ceramic backings will be okay but looks like staingate won this round

keep an eye out for your watch, keep it out of water (seems like the reason for my case) it even got on the sensor top left

Have you tried giving it a good clean? I don’t avoid water with me SE and haven’t seen that. Is it a known issue?

I keep my watch on in the shower, in fact I clean under the band with shampoo and slide my watch up and down over the soap, it’s an AW4 so been doing this for close to 1000 times, no stains whatsoever… water wouldn’t do that unless maybe saltwater… do you use any skin products, sunscreen?

I had those same marks. I used a 'baby wipe', and had to scrub for a few minutes. Don't know why, but that material seems to like to 'stain' like that. The first time, I thought it was permanent. I panicked...

I'd hardly call that horrible, and it's not like it's on a visible part of the AW in normal use. Wouldn't bother me at all, and I'm pretty anal when it comes to keeping things looking nice. I guess I feel the Watch is different since you're wearing it through blood, sweat, and tears (literally), so it's expected that the back (especially) won't remain pristine. Having said that, it wouldn't hurt to vigorously rub with a microfiber cloth and a little 50/50 distilled water/isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher) mixture.
