So basically if you're looking for somewhere to shoot up some people Howard Schultz has just put a green light over all of his stores.

When will people learn that gun free zones are only an invitation for mass shootings?

The last 2 mass shooting happened in locations that were "gun free" in states with major gun control. Had a few more citizens or off duty security personal been carrying weapons the kill count could have been much less.

This strikes me as a veiled way to get publicity in the wake of a tragedy.

Good for him, but poor timing.

Good for him. Too bad I don't drink coffee or else I'd go there today to show my support.

Did you hear the all you criminals with guns? Make sure you leave your guns in your ride or at your crib when you come in to get your frapachino latte pumpkin spice skinny mocha expresso coffee.

This is the exact reason it is just a publicity stunt.

I approve. There is no need to carry guns around with you.

You mean like the heavily-guarded Navy Yard? No guns there, no siree.

It a decent policy but announcing this this week seems like bad political hacking of a bad event. The CEO should have waited a week before announcing this change this soon.

At the current rate of mass murders in the US, eventually if there's a week long waiting period after a mass murder before you can even begin to discuss gun control, it would never be discussed.

I never pictured criminals as having such discriminating taste in coffee.

I pictured them more of a 7-11 or AM/PM type coffee type. :)

My hope is that all the gun nuts will be so outraged that they will boycott Starbucks.

All they want you to carry into a Starbucks is your wallet.

And you believe that once criminals find out about this policy, that Starbucks will become the preferred place to rob people?

I re-read your post and saw I leapt to a conclusion you were not making.

    My apologies.

But I did appreciate your response.

I never said anything about gun policy. I was talking about common sense and not jumping to conclusions and taking advantage of a bad event to push a political view, left or right.

I am ok with this. Any business can say no guns allowed. Gun owners respect rules put forth by establishments.

Not sure what this thread is about in regards to gun owners however.

This is a thread where you're supposed to get outraged.

I was going to get angry. But then I decided to not be angry and to be awesome instead. True story.
