Just wanting to check on the forum.

When I got my iMac 2 weeks ago (-1 day) I was astounded that I could not hear any fan noise. The only way, even at night, to hear if it was on was to put my ear close and listen for HD spinning. Of course this is at minimal fan speed (1000 rpm)

Last night I started so hear a soft whine, can hear it clearly at daytime as well, sitting at normal distance from the screen. Is slightly high pitched. Softer than from my MBP (mid 2007) or the external HD spinning. But still, I had not heard it before. Worried it might get more pronounced.

I checked with Fan Control and it does not seem to be the CPU fan. When I max the fans out, the sound revs up, till full blowing. Then comes down until this soft whine remains.

I was curious if this is normal.
