What a shame .... but it was so funny watching that idiot sweat.

BTW... I don't get why people do this. From personal experience, walking around in uniform is no great experience. You'll get a thank you from some people, but that's about it most of the time.

Crap like this happens more than you can imagine. I can only hope that he gets jackbooted up the ass at some point in the near future.

I agree. If it fulfills some personal need and isn't being used criminally, then I don't care what kind of costume someone wants to wear.

Who cares? Why put people on pedestals because of an uniform/badge/cloak/halo/and costume? If general sponge bob in command of making sure all donuts are killed by being devoured is happy then so be it.

It's very disrespectful and illegal. Those who get caught should be forced to go through bootcamp as a punishment.

Do you feel the same about police impersonators?

The problem is that he was likely trying to, or did, gain some sort of military discount where he was shopping.

"Thank you for your service" is something I never, ever want to hear again. I know people meant well but Jesus, I got tired of it.

Anyway, most loser-wannabes who couldn't get in the military know how to fake their uniform, awards, and medals. Only an idiot thinks you can wear three CIBs. I didn't watch the video but this particular guy looks like he might be mildly retarded. I feel sorry for him.

All you need is a military ID for those discounts. Plenty of people have no clue what those patches insignias mean. Gazillion of clowns get tridents right out of boot camp. Woop dee doo

It takes a peculiar sort of personality to do that - one thats probably best left with the easy option of pretending to have been in the forces, than ever actually joining.

Cos heaven help anyone unfortunate enough to get landed with them if they ever had slipped thru the net.

Yes it does, there was a case of an old man pretending to be a World War I veteran here in Australia a few years ago. Having had both my grandparents serve during World War II I find this whole issue incredibly disrespectful.

I will admit, there was a huge increase of recognition after 9/11. It's probably died down again now.

It dropped off dramatically over the last two years. People got really tired of the endless war.

Hope the anti war left grows a back bone. Only way for that to happen is by having a republican at the front

With the exception of Code Pink, the enormous leftist-liberal anti-war movement vanished from American shores the moment Obama was elected in 2008. No doubt they will come out of hibernation after Obama takes his Nobel Peace Prize and retires to some California golf course and if he is replaced by a Republican.

The libertarian-paleoconservative right have been consistently anti-war since 2003.
