Strange iPad Keyboard Issue While Charging

i have an iPad Air 2 and when i have it on the charger and try to type in landscape the keyboard is super laggy like it is skipping letters or is words behind.

Example:

i api. tths sentencee on ad n mdscmode while its. is aning and it cant ep uup

Should be:
I am typing this sentence in landscape mode while i am typing this and it cant keep up

This happened to me once years back. I don't remember what I did to resolve it. Have you tried a restore?
