3rd party smart folio case and folio keyboard

The iPad is so slim I wonder if that’s gonna ruin anything long term

Probably not but hopefully not a major engineering oversight ?

What would it interfere with? Everything in the iPad is solid state. On top of that, I’m sure the engineers at Apple had the foresight to ensure the placement of the magnets would not interfere with the device.

Magnets are typically known for interfering with “older” technology, such as the old school CRT TVs (where the magnet would distort the screen) and in hard drive disks where a strong enough magnet could cause the disk to collide with the actuator arm and physically damage the drive — the iPad has neither of these, obviously.

The iPad has a magnetometer for directional orientation and I have not noticed any problem with that.

You do realize the magnets are inside the iPad itself, right? I’ve even posted a thread where I stuck my 12.9” on the refrigerator. It doesn’t matter whether or not you use the magnetic cases.

Some people suspect magnets on folio kB could be warping a relatively hollow section of the device. But good point

So of course what do I do? Get right up after reading this and went and stuck my iPad to the refrigerator.
