Alright, I carbon-copy-cloned my G4 tower to my 12" 1G PB...
When booting the PB normally, it crashes in approx. 10 seconds after I've got the desktop. By booting into safe-mode (shift at startup), it doesn't crash.
This means the StartupItems in the System/Library folder is causing the problem, and my guess is because they were compiled on the G4 tower and the G4 PB doesn't like e'm...
So... Could a 12" 1GHz PowerBook user kindly stuff his/her System/Library/StartupItems folder to a .sit/.sitx file for me and email it to dermeister@mac.com? It's only like half a meg
