I know Tiger has in built expansion ability and so Stuffit is no longer needed for most files, but for example i am trying to expand the Windows Media which is a .sitx file, doesn't seem to be able to expand it.
Any ideas how to do this?

If you do an Easy install Stuffit should still be there.

If you did an Install Archive you should be able to drag it across from your old system folder if it hasn't been installed when you upgraded to Tiger.

If you've done a clean install, you'll have to download. :(

Because the application references /Library/CFMSupport/StuffitEngineShell.cfm, which would not have survived an A&I. Meaning, you have to reinstall Stuffit Expander.
