Dear community,

since some time, I am experiencing a weird behavior with my Apple Music/Apple One subscription. Each month, I get a message that my subscription has been cancelled as there is a problem with my payment method and I have to manually renew it.

Some additional info: While I was only using Apple Music, there was a tax change in my country so Apple booked the full price and then refunded me for a small amount of that (equal to the difference in tax) and now for Apple One, I get refunded for Apple TV+, as I am still in the free period.

My guess is that the money I get refunded is then on my account and the next time Apple One is due, it tries to deduct the sum from the money in my account, but as there is not enough there, it cancels my subscription instead of using my credit card which I have added to my Apple ID. I have talked to Apple support about this and they said that this cannot be the case, as subscriptions automatically use a secondary payment method (in this case, my credit card) when the first one (in this case, the amount I have in my account due to refunds) fails.

However, I cannot think of any other reason for this behaviour. Has anyone every experienced something like this and has some advice?

Thanks so much for your help!
