So when do all of the straight marriage suddenly become invalidated and the world end? That's what I was told would happen if the gheys marry!

That will happen tomorrow. It's been happening in many states already. ;)

Then, as "flying saucer" Farrakhan has claimed, the US will suffer a huge natural disaster. :)

The forced marriage of children to dogs begins in five minutes.

    That's great news. :)

    Makes me happy..... gay even!:p

I guess the Supreme Court was due for a win after their (unrelated) idiotic ruling on campaign financing.....

I was surprised. The corporate campaign ruling tells me Roberts will run an activist court. This allayed those fears a bit.

Hasn't that already happened, at least in Massachusetts? :)

I was going to say the same. Chunky is just not a good idea at all. ;)

I have it on good authority that in celebration of this decision, Matt Drudge is planning on proposing to Larry Craig....

If you knew anything about Roberts you would not have been surprised.

    http://www.supremecourtus.gov/opinions/09pdf/9A0807.pdf is the ruling.

This article is better than the fluff piece submitted http://www.scotusblog.com/2010/03/d-c-same-sex-marriages-allowed/

Just as the ruling on campaign contributions not being limited he would prefer t defer to local authorities in matters governing themselves. That was one the one big reason why that particular part of McCain/Feingold was struck down - it usurped authority from localities.

As in, unless a law violates the Constitution the locality trumps the Federal government. Now this does not stop opponents in the DC area from pursuing their referendum this November, provided they can get enough votes to get it on the ballot - meaning gay marriage may be revoked.

Again, putting people's rights up to a vote is completely against what our nation stands for.
