Lovely. And people wonder why we loathe religion.

God 'makes' crazies do a lot of things. Sounds like this guy needs to be in the loony bin.

Glad no one was seriously injured.

That there are bad people out there who will grasp at anything to justify their deeds. Hopefully, they are given the maximum sentenced allowed.

Good luck with that. Given what normally happens in cases regarding us, he'll probably get probation.

It could have been worse, luckily they got out with only scrapes and bruises.

Im not sure what assault/battery charges bring in LI, but around here the penalties don't seem too strict.

If he gets off because God told him to do it I will gouge my eyes out with a fork because the stupidity level in the nation will have just peaked.

Why is it that people who are against gays always seem to have "close gay friends"?

    Classical justification technique.

I doubt gay people would be friends with others that are against them unless they are self haters or something.

I understand that many here have had bad experiences with religion and that you feel people who are "religious" are against homosexuals, but seriously, you don't really believe that Joel Osteen or a 23 year old punk who pulls "God told me to" out of thin air are representative of all people who profess to believe in God?

Any person that kills others and says "God made me do it" is delusional.

Murder is murder. Sometimes it's done out of hatred and sometimes it's done out of passion. But ALL the time it's wrong.

There has been a very long history of murderers killing because "God made me do it".

Has nothing to do with Gays,Women, childern or any other victim. They are ALL victims.

What is the standard for aggravated assault in that state anyhow? It still boggles my mind that any victim would be treated differently depending on who they are.

Lee your country sounds like(no offense intended) a bit of a ********, you should come chill with us Canuckistanis.

People here are forgetting the recent hate crimes bill that now includes crimes against gay people. He could also be charged with a federal crime.

Does this imbecile think that would justify any of his actions?
People who use god as an excuse in turn, hate god. Why else would they tarnish the name, unless god was just their scapegoat?

That would probably only happen if the jury fails to return the "correct" verdict. Rather like that pesky double jeopardy, except it's not, and yet it is.

Why is it that everyone who is opposed to homsexuality is "close friends with many gay people?".

I have absolutely zero problem with gay people but I personally am not "close friends" with any. I am aquainted with a few but I would'nt say I truly know any gay people (at least that I know of).

I mean compared to heterosexuals there arent that many homosexuals and most people dont have that many real "friends".

So how is it that all these homophobes are such "close friends" with gay people???

That makes him all the more effective, thus is the way of the trolls.

    Take your pick:
-Makes them feel better(I may hate it but damn am I a good person in putting up with it)
-Makes them look better(I may hate it but damn am I a good person in putting up with it)
    -Actually are somehow(unlikely)

They aren't. But they sure do like to say they are. They probably know somebody who knows somebody. Or met someone's cousin at a banquet. That's what they mean by "close friends". ;)
