Yeah - that is worthless... I don't get why they can just have a simple and informative display:

Current Temp (in big font with pic), withthe high/low for the day (little font)...or even what they had in iOS 6.

I'm not sure what exactly the issue is so I figured maybe I can suggest a widget or two. Try WeatherUnderground or Vidgets. You can also edit the placement on NC, the design etc. I swipe down for weather & calendar all the time.

Or is it something else that that I am missing?

The fact it's missing the temperature?

About 50% of the time the Apple weather notification doesn't show the actual temperature. The other information is fine but I want to know the high/low and current temps at a glance.

I've been using the Yahoo weather app widget. When it works, it's great. Unfortunately since iOS 8, I see the words 'unable to load' much too often. It seems better with 8.1.3 though.

That is why I suggested a couple widgets that are better, more accurate and informative.

Agree - so I use other widgets that are better. I guess that is what I was getting at. Why stay with the stock widget if others are better.

I'm on iOS 7, didn't want to update with the wifi and other issues I have been seeing, so no widgets for me. And I get there are solutions, just kind of amazed apple misses the single most important piece of information for weather. It's bizarre, no?

Aah ok. I agree that the stock widget/info should be better. Thats why I dont use it - its kinda useless!
Maybe once you update you can play around with some of the other widgets as well and see what you like.

What app / widget are you guys using that tells you it would take about such and such minutes to get to whatever location?

That's a neat feature.

Yahoo weather is great

I primarily use Living Earth to get my weather info. Loads fast with swipe down plus shows other time zones, max and min temps, and sunrise. It's awesome - right under my calendar widget B)

That's built into ios 8. As long as location services is turned on it starts to give that info after a couple of weeks. Pretty cool.

So I gather that info is coming from Apple Maps?

Also I guess you have to have a contact established of yourself with your home and work addresses for it to know that stuff?

Not sure about Apple maps, but that makes sense. Even without contact info it will pick up you daily commute and tell you how long it will take to get to your usual destination. This time seems to vary. Maybe based on traffic?

Pretty comical really... NC hardly ever matches up with weather.app either.

For weather I am using a combination of NOW Weather (widget) and Dark Sky. The NOW Weather app (and Widget) uses DS Info. I keep DS installed for the push notifications when there is supposed to be precipitation. I like the NOW Weather widget because it is relatively compact, shows the information I want to see in a little better format that what DS offers.
