I am new to Mac OS X and would appreciate your help with the following: I created a link in the finder sidebar by dropping a folder in it. By default this assigns a folder icon to the link. I would like to change the icon to one of the system icons that are already displayed in the sidebar (for example, the pictures or music icon). The thing is I can’t figure out how to assign these icons. Where are they and how do I use them? I’ve read the manual and figured out how to assign an icon by copying and pasting in the Get Info screen but I can’t use this approach since I am unable to locate the correct icons. Thanks!

Go to if you want a good resource with locating and using replacement icons. Just click on the "help" section and it should tell you everything you'd ever want to know about changing and locating icons within OS X.
