So how does the $300 come off then? If I trade in my iPhone 7+ 256GB in damn near brand new condition, does it JUST take payments off the monthly payments, or can it go towards the down payment? I mean that would be nice, but I don't know if T-Mobile would be willing to do that.

When I switched earlier this year, they let me trade in my iPhone 7+ from AT&T and they applied the value it was worth towards the down payment. I got another iPhone 7+ but this time through T-Mobile. Only thing I had to do was pay taxes on it. Maybe I lucked out because I was just was coming on to T-Mobile? I dunno. $430 is a lot to pay for a down payment not to mention taxes and the sim? Your probably looking damn near $550 just to get the X no?

Jump on demand pricing for the note 8 is zero down and $39 a month. If you figure the X is $70 more than the note 8, a zero down payment option and monthly payments of roughly $42 wouldn’t be out of whack.

    64GB: $0 down and $29 per month 256GB: $219.99 down and $23 per month iPhone 8 Plus

    64GB: $0 down and $33 per month 256GB: $279.99 down and $24 per month

That's what the rumors are for JOD for the iPhone 8

I'm thinking of doing the iPhone 8 plus 256gb in space grey on JOD(Jump On Demand) and keep it here for a few months, and once the X becomes easily available sometime next year or whenever, once all the kinks have been worked out cause it will have them, i can easily just upgrade to that.

So with there being two models of each phone as far as radios are concerned, does it make more sense to try and order a Verizon version from Apple assuming they won't ask for account info online to pay full price or will i be stuck ordering the T-Mobile version?

If T-Mobile won't sweeten their trade-in promotion, I will definitely get a Verizon model from Apple Store. They won't ask for your account if you pay in full.

When the 6s came out, T-Mobile gave $7 bill credits for 18 months ($126 savings). When the 7 came out, they gave a massive $650 trade credit even if you gave a 16gb iPhone 6 from 2014. But, so far, just giving basically 0% financing isn't gonna cut it...I really hope they give a decent/fair incentive or else just might as well get a Verizon version outright.

I am getting mixed messages. Can you order a T Mobile iPhone 8 from Apple this Friday? I would rather do that then mess with T Mobile's site.

You can but you need to pay full price.

Oh cool. I guess that's not a big deal for me, if I couldn't afford it I wouldn't get it. Now the only confounding factor is that if T Mobile is truly offering a $300 trade in, then I have to go to a store to do that next Friday....which is always a gamble with stocks.

thank you for the quick reply!

Does anyone know if the Verizon version from Apple.com will be unlocked from the factory for any carrier like it was for the iphone 7??

Yes, it will be unlocked as it was for iPhone 7. Verizon phone is always unlock. iPhone 8 and X Verizon and Sprint phones are the only ones compatible with CDMA and GSM, while the ones for ATT and T-Mobile are only compatible with GSM. Basically, Verizon phone is the universal phone.

Had fun participating in last year's thread, can't wait for this year's :) Definitely getting the X silver one, but pretty torn whether or not to get 64 or 256 (with that steep downpayment rip).

I think you guys should look into trading phones into Apple. They're offering me $375 for my 7 32gb.

T-Mobile is forcing the $300 (piss poor btw) over 24 months which is dumb

Yeah there is no way I'd pay such a hefty down payment for the 256gb iPhone X. And now T-Mobile customers buying the 8 and X get this news:

    http://bgr.com/2017/09/13/iphone-x-t-mobile-preorder-release-date-dont-do-it/

I'm definitely gonna wait for the XS or X2 or whatever it's gonna be called now.
